β€œWhen you talk, you are only repeating what you already know. But if you listen, you may learn something new.” ― The Dalai Lama.

Listening is hard as fuck.

Even if you’re a “quiet” person (which I don’t think exists), you still might not be intentionally or actively listening.

When in conversation you might be thinking, “What is the next question I should ask?” “This is awkward, how can I…” “Oh! I have a good story to relate/top”

(Even deeper: “What am I doing about…?” “Damn, did I forget to do…” “That’s coming up in a couple days/weeks/months, what should I…”)

Instead have:

  • No agenda
  • No ulterior motive
  • Nothing personally fulfilling

Hint: “Just Give A Shit”

Be present in every conversation. Genuinely Care. Intentionally Listen. And your relationships will be stronger.

Learn or Die,
